Biography

Mawgan has been singing for as long as she can remember. Having loved music since being a toddler, when she used to dance along to the Archer's theme in her play pen. Flash Forward and she now has over 20 years of singing training under her belt and over ten years experience performing across the country.

Mawgan attended singing lessons and her local dance school throughout her childhood. It was through many reruns of her Aunt’s VCR of Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and lots of theatre trips that Mawgan decided that performing was the career for her

 

She went on to attend Pattison College in Coventry from the age of eleven, a prestigious performing arts school. It was there her passion grew even more. She spent her teen years performing all over the Midlands.

She graduated from the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama in 2018 with a Trinity Level 6 extended Diploma in Musical Theatre.

She has a vast array of performing experience in the many different genres. She notably sang vocals behind West End leading lady Kerry Ellis in her most recent tour. She has also played lead roles in musicals throughout her training, such as Sister Act, The Drowsy Chaperone, Seussical, 42nd Street and Assassins. She has starred as a featured vocalist in multiple productions throughout the years. Notable theatres she has performed at include:Her Majesty's London;Leicester Square Theatre;Birmingham Symphony Hall and The Nottingham Playhouse to name but a few.

Mawgan started Mawgan Stott Vocals in September 2018, this was a way to earn money around theatre and acting contracts while still maintaining performance skills. By the end of 2019, a couple of gigs a month had turned into solid bookings every weekend. Now, despite the pandemic and numerous additional ’survival jobs',  she is very busy with bookings and has created a great reputation for entertainment in the South West. Performing live music at pubs, bars, restaurants, hotels, care homes, weddings, events and more. 

Since graduating she has worked extensively in interactive theatre with a heavy focus on improvisation and character work. Having completed two Christmas contracts onboard The Polar Express Tram Ride at Seaton Tramway as a Dancing/Singing chef in 2019 and 2021, As well helping on the creative team for the 2022 run. She also worked for the summer season in 2021 doing interactive children’s events: Dinosaur tram, Pirate Tram and The Fairy Special. Mawgan also works for an Interactive Murder Mystery company called Candlelight Murder Mystery. Performing Loosely scripted  comedy improvisational Murder Mystery events across the whole South West.

In the Summer of 2022, Mawgan was lead vocalist onboard the Fred Olsen Balmoral, cruising around Europe and singing for a living. She has continued working at sea in 2023, joining function band Funky Blue and again working onboard Fred Olsen Ships. She has been to South America, Europe, America, Canada and India and Africa with the band.

 

Mawgan has always kept her passion for vocal technique and training going. Using the pandemic to do some more training, she has completed the Level 1&2 course in Estill Vocal Technique, is a Vocal health first aider and also recently completed the BAST Singing Teacher Course. This is something she hopes to continue to pursue and to eventually expand Mawgan Stott Vocals to include teaching.
